Around 6 weeks ago a young and very gentle female, very much a typical local dog gave birth to just two lovely boy puppies. She has made her "nursery" at the side of the Car Park at The Fajara Golf Club. With the help of some good and kind Security Guards at the Club and some other kind people this gentle mother is surviving and her Puppies are doing very well.

Animal Care Association The Gambia will be taking mother - named for the moment as Birdie - and her pups named Tee and Caddy - to the veterinary and they will all have examinations, vaccinations etc and Birdie will be spayed.

The ACA will be looking for new homes for this delightful family and as a preview we show you some photos of them - enough we hope to stir a few of you into thinking about giving them a chance to live in a loving and caring home - they deserve it.

March 17th 2011.
Mother and pups are doing very well in their Foster Home and already the pups have had their first vaccinations and they are in fine health and we are hoping that we have found homes for them. Mum has also settled in very well and is enjoying the company of the others at the Foster Home. She will be spayed as soon as possible and meantime the pups are playing happily together and are a joy to watch in their new safe environment.

March 23rd 2011.
Both Pups now had their vaccinations and Mother has been spayed - ready and waiting for that New Home!

April 2012

Some time ago both pups were found a home and are happy and well cared for, it took a little longer for Mum to be offered a new home. She stayed in her foster home for just over a year and was very happy there. However when she was taken to her new home and saw how much space she had all to herself, she jumped about for joy - one very excited lady and another wonderful home for one of our rescued dogs.
