What will my donation provide?

With your donation we will have the resources to neuter and treat sick animals by Veterinary Surgeons here in The Gambia, and where appropriate to return them to the beach or streets.  Abandoned animals will be found homes with caring families.  Whilst animals are undergoing treatment these will be fostered until they are recovered enough to be returned to the beach or streets or found caring homes.

What is sponsorship and should we call it that?

At this moment in time we do not have Boarding Kennels or a Sanctuary for the sick and needy animals here in The Gambia. What we do have is a very dedicated lady who provides care, love and attention to the many that are in the process of having treatment, maybe they need some added attention/care at a difficult time in their life and some are just very old and we even have some amputees, some are waiting to be collected by their new owners and we do have others that are just not suitable to be placed in a family home.

Your donation will help us to neuter, vaccinate and treat an animal in an ongoing situation and help us maintain this "Foster" area, that we so desperately need as a temporary measure.

Fortunately, there are times when we identify an animal in need of help, before it has major problems and it is taken to the Veterinary. Here it will have a full check up, be vaccinated and receive any treatment needed, maybe neutered and it will be tattooed for later identification and when all is completed and the animal declared fit, well and healthy, it will be returned to where it was found, and it can lead a free but healthy life on the beach or streets of the Gambia

During the Holiday/Tourist Season is the time we often meet some of you who have begun a "Holiday Romance"  with a needy Dog/Cat and we understand very well how you feel, as most of our volunteers had the same experience and this is now why they are involved with the Charity. Often we are offered financial help by kind and generous people and of course their "special Dog/Cat" is the one that they request is looked after and taken care of. As we have no Kennels or a Sanctuary we can not provide this permanent safe place. However we can provide, with your help, the full medical check up, vaccination, necessary treatment and spaying/neutering etc. and once the animal is declared fit and healthy they can be returned to their original place. We are sure you will understand it is nigh on impossible for us to keep a check on all rescued animals. We will always try and maintain some contact with the animal and where possible report back to you.
